Just looking at BJ's cyberlegs makes me wonder... wouldn't the Steel Rangers love a chunk of those? I mean they clamor for pre-war tech and if Crunchy Carrots was traveling with the Professor... doesn't that makes the Prof a prime target? Or is it because she's a pre-war pony of high intelligence and standing that she was spared?
I dunno; even if we don't account for Carrots' (former?) friendship with the Professor, the Hoofington chapter might not have had the manpower to take the Collegiate without heavy losses before they were reinforced by the other chapters, or before they got the battleship's main gun operational. They already had the Reapers to contend with, as well.
To be fair, by the time BJ gets back to the Hoof most of the Steel Rangers will probably be AJ's Rangers under Stronghoof, and likely leave her alone, or be with Steel Rain, and thus would shoot her on sight regardless, so the new limbs probably won't change anything. As for Prof Z, dunno, but what you said is probably a good guess
Honestly, I couldn't remember if she had the Pipleg either at this point. It wasn't referenced in the chapter and I'm sure that would be something Blackjack would have noticed...but then again, she isn't the most Perceptive
I did get that impression too. To be fair to Somber though, if there's any one pony who can legitimately claim to have been subjected to more physical and emotional abuse than Littlepip, its BJ. As for BJ one-upping LP in the actual battles, don't forget that BJ was drunk at the time.
My actual thought on it was that we're Seeing Blackjack after she's been through hell, and Littlepip's main tests (Arbu and the Canterlot Ruins) were still coming. Blackjack has her tests still coming too, but by that point, I think she'd dealt with a bit more.
And Somber answered with the same thing, BJ was drunk.
Aye, this puts Pip just after her first visit to the "goddess" and the adventures in Old Olneigh. While they had to be bad-ass to survive it, it was a different sort of threat than Blackjack has been dealing with. Sure Pip had survived Fillydelphia and the Ranger invasion of Stable 2, but there was still a lot more coming for her.
It did, however, make the conversation between BJ and Pip more relevant about Blackjack gassing 99.
